Morning stiffness? Try sun salutes last

≤30 min. Sun salutes, or surya namaskar is the most common way to start a yoga sequence. For some of us lots of forward and back bending movements that are part of sun salutes simply doesn't work well for us at the beginning of the day when our muscles are so tight. This practice focuses on the upper body tightness first with some shoulder and thoracic spine openers through gentle twists and poses to lengthen the side body before any forward or back bending. It's a gentle way to start your practice especially if you like an early morning practice. Notice how the movement gives rise to understanding the expression "Move a muscle, Change a thought".
