No weight bearing for arms and hands — practice with a beginner mind

≤30 min. Practice without hands and arms. Yoga teachings encourage us to come to the mat with the mind of a beginner student - wherein everything is new. Strengthen your legs and open your hips in this practice of lunges with a twist, and 3 variations to sucirandrasana -- standing in a balance pose, seated from a navasana variation, and supine. We will be pulsing to get the connective tissue hydrated in standing poses such as Virabhadrasana 2 and Trikonasana. The arms will be toned through engagement of fingers and hands without weight bearing. When I was placed at a "beginner 2" level in Spanish after years of studying the language the yoga teachings about beginner mind became especially important! What a nice teaching to ensure that our ego stays in balance.
